Scott Trembley: Good afternoon, Scott Trembley here, President and CEO of the Trembley Group Real Estate firm here in Myrtle Beach. I hope everyone out there’s doing amazing. We’re always talking about leadership around here, and today I want to speak to that a little bit more, and sort of define our why’s. As you guys probably know out there, when it comes to selling real estate we’re always trying to define the motivation and why’s of our clients, and why they’re doing what they’re doing, and how we can best serve them. I’m going to turn this back around, so I challenge you to define the why, as to what gets you up in the morning, and what truly drives you?

Strong leaders, they always really understand what their ‘why’ is. I’m going to take you back a little ways, December 25th 2010, one of my biggest why’s actually happened. My twin boys were born on that day, which is Christmas day, Connor and Dylan, it was simply amazing, and obviously one of the best days, probably the best day of my life. My ‘why’ got really, really big. Something I always dreamed about is having amazing kids, and being an amazing father, and a family, or what have you. Then, eight days later my amazing wife, she passed away. My ‘why’ was challenged, and the inspiration I had each and every day was challenged. There was a whole lot of different thoughts going on, a whole lot of emotions, from the outside world too. A whole lot of different thoughts as to, “What’s Scott going to do?”

Thankfully enough, what it did was inspire me even more. When you define your ‘why’ you really need to have that purpose, understand what drives you, what gets you up in the morning. Then, make sure that on a day-to-day basis the things you’re doing are in alignment with that. The things you’re doing is one big key, but also who you’re surrounding yourself with.

Over this time I’ve been very blessed to have some amazing people in my life to help me continue to grow and to help those boys to just be strong young men, and healthy young men, and little leaders in themselves. That’s inspired me each and very day to just continue to get out there and do something even more special in the world, to help more people.

That’s my big why, so it gets me up early in the morning and really inspires me. I always make sure that the things I’m doing in my life are in alignment with bringing major value to those around me, especially those kids I have at home. Now, I’m going to challenge you here too, because as you begin to do more of that and get more motivated around your big ‘why’, that ‘why’ can change, it can get even bigger. I’m going to fast forward to today, recently my ‘why’ has just gotten even bigger. I have recently just gotten engaged to a beautiful young lady, her name is Kristen, and she has three wonderful kids, McKay, Gavin and Ethan. My ‘why’ has just become a basketball team; we’ve got a whole group of us.

I’m so incredibly inspired and led to just be the best man I can be, best leader I can be, best father, best husband. It’s really, really, really important to me to get up early, be strong, be motivated, be dialed in. It just inspires me to do what I do on a day to day basis, and to continue to bring value to others.

Great leaders always have a big ‘why’. If you find a great leader out there, they will have a purpose, they’ll have a big why behind what they do, they’ll be motivated for different reasons. I’ve shared some of mine, that are really, really close to my heart, and big to me. I challenge you to really, really look into yourself, and if you don’t have something that inspires you, or you’re not motivated, or have a big ‘why’, find something. Just start today, find something that you can really, really attach on to, that motivates you and allows you to get up earlier, act more often, dream bigger, and just build more value into others around you.

I hope you pulled something from today’s talk, it’s really, really important. We’re all about leadership around here.
