Summer is truly “the” season at the beach and the summer season really starts to heat up in the last days of May with the Memorial Day weekend. Here are just a few events that the Trembley Group Realtors are most looking forward to in June.

Corvette Car Show

Saturday, June 3, 9:00 am until 3:00 pm

Broadway at the Beach, 1325 Celebrity Circle, Myrtle Beach

Myrtle Beach is well known for its annual classic car shows.  Unlike other shows, a show scheduled for June 3 will feature just one make: Corvettes. Beautiful Corvettes from all over the country will be at Broadway at the Beach on the first weekend in June for your viewing pleasure.

The 22nd annual Corvettes at Myrtle Beach car show will be held Saturday, June 3 at Broadway at the Beach from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Hosted by the Myrtle Beach Corvette Club, the car show is open to the public at no charge. Cars on display will span several decades, with models from 1953 to 2017.

Trophies will be awarded for different classes. There will be a Best in Class trophy for each category and a Best in Show trophy for the winner overall. Other awards include Best Engine, Best Interior, Best Exterior, Most Extreme, Ladies Choice, and Custom and Stock. To be eligible for a trophy, drivers must register their car in advance and stand by their cars while the judges inspect their cars.

The Corvette Club’s event draws returning drivers and spectators, a testament to the event’s success.

A DJ will be spinning tunes throughout the day, and food vendors will be selling items to spectators. The car show is an all-ages event.

The Corvette Club is very dedicated to giving back to the community. A large portion of the funds generated from club events are donated to local charities in Brunswick, Georgetown, and Horry counties. Last year, the club raised nearly $25,000 and donated money to Meals on Wheels and the Veterans Welcome Home & Resource Center.

The Myrtle Beach Corvette Club was founded in 1977 and is comprised of Corvette enthusiasts who live across the Grand Strand, from Georgetown to Wilmington, N.C. To learn more about the club, visit www.myrtlebeachcorvetteclub.com.

June Events at Brookgreen Gardens

Registered as a National Historic Landmark, Brookgreen Gardens is a wonder of native flora, fauna, and American sculpture. Considered by many to be the jewel of the Grand Strand, Brookgreen Gardens has been delighting visitors since its creation in 1931 by Anne and Archer Huntington. Located off Highway 17 in Murrells Inlet, the entrance is marked by a larger-than-life statue of a horse and rider.

Among the nine-thousand lush acres of South Carolina history and Lowcountry landscapes, you will find the largest and most significant collection of outdoor figurative sculpture by American artists in the world. At Brookgreen Gardens you can learn about the rice plantations of the 1800s and the rich Gullah culture of the enslaved Africans who worked them.

Visitors to Brookgreen Gardens can see animals in scenic enclosures that respect the animals and the surrounding environment at the Lowcountry Zoo and Native Animal Habitat. The little ones will love the Butterfly House and the Peace Garden Room for Children along with the fountains, reflecting pools, and hidden pathways.

There are plenty of open, green spaces to enjoy a picnic or lay back and watch the clouds go by at Brookgreen Gardens. Guests can explore all Brookgreen Gardens has to offer on foot, by boat tour or by the Brookgreen Garden Trekker.

Wednesdays in March through November, 1:00 pm

Daise entertains audiences with his creative energy as a singer/songwriter and performer and his vast knowledge of the Gullah Geechee people. Garden visitors learn about the culture, history, food, and language of the Gullah-Geechee people, descendants of slaves who lived in the South Carolina and Georgia Lowcountry.
