Jeremy Jenks: Jeremy Jenks, Vice President of Sales here. Stay tuned for some surprise expert commentary.

Well, it’s World Series time, so I got a little fastball I had to catch there with the box come flying at me. So I’m hoping you all are enjoying this at home. Let’s see what we get today. “Do I have to pay for a home inspection?” Yes, you do, so “have to” is a very relative term there. So that’s gonna depend if you’re a buyer or a seller. 99% of the time what’s gonna happen, or maybe 100% of the time what’s gonna happen is the buyer is going to pay for a home inspection. I have seen one case where the buyer was successfully able to negotiate the cost of the home inspection with the seller. But that’s really, really, really rare, so the buyer pays for the home inspection. The inspector represents the buyer throughout the transaction and the reason I kind of laughed at the beginning is I personally am very, very adamant about home inspections. You never know what’s behind the walls. Even if it’s new construction and it’s been inspected, it’s still not a bad idea.

But in any resale home and if you’re working with me as an agent, you are absolutely gonna get a home inspection. That $350, let’s call it, can sometimes save you thousands in headaches, so that’s a very, very low-cost insurance policy if you look at it that way. So stay tuned for more.
