I was sitting in The Trembley Group Real Estate sales meeting recently and puzzling about the remarkable organization founders and partners Scott Trembley and Jeremy Jenks have created. Since 1981 I worked in the industry (as a sales manager, professor, commercial broker, and an appraiser), and in closely associated industries (building and development). I am currently a freelance writer and marketing consultant in the industry. In my experience, The Trembley Group is unique, unlike any real estate company I’ve ever seen.

Scott was reviewing the firm’s sales numbers and I was absolutely stunned. Halfway through the month, in a market where the norm for an agent is four or five sales per year, the month-to-date sales for each of the fourteen agents – four sales, six sales, five sales, nine sales with two more waiting for signatures – were unprecedented in any market. The Trembley Group sales executives are all relative newcomers to the business and the month was just half over. Their personal sales goals were also ambitious. One young man, not yet 35, had a personal sales goal of a million dollars per month… and he was on track to achieve it.

I was curious and puzzled by the formula that Scott and Jeremy had used to create a sales organization that achieved such unprecedented results.  How did they create a company culture that made those unprecedented results possible? What made their company different?

My conclusions all sounded like clichés. But as my father often told me, clichés don’t become clichés by not being true. For a start, like most successful real estate companies, Jeremy and Scott have put together a remarkable team of professionals to help their clients through every step of buying and/or selling a home. The Trembley Group has every piece of the Real Estate puzzle handled in advance to ensure that their client’s real estate experience is efficient, seamless, and, to the extent possible, stress-free and enjoyable.

In The Trembley Group sales meeting, I was struck by the variety of people sitting there. Men and women, of course, but also young and old, multilingual, master degrees and high school graduates, a professional golfer, former teachers, and business owners. Scott and Jeremy have created a unique company culture by hiring people who offer different experiences than their own. As tempting as it may be, they have avoided hiring “mini-me’s.” They have identified their own strengths and weaknesses, and they’ve filled in the gaps.

The one characteristic every person in the company shares is a focus on and passion for success.

The company has an amazing team consisting of Fourteen Buyers Specialists, three Client Care Specialists, their leading Listing Specialist, Jeremy Jenks, the talented Director of Marketing, Nancy-Paige Robinson, and a Transaction Specialist, Shannon Dial. The team is also partnered with the industry’s best attorneys, mortgage lenders, home inspectors, and photographers – the key elements required to make a buying and selling experience effortless and efficient.

Scott and Jeremy have learned from their mistakes (and successes). As Scott always says, “Fail forward.” To date, they both have had remarkably successful careers and have inspired their sales executives to follow their examples. There are no “buts.” If The Trembley Group Sales Executive want the success Jeremy and Scott have, they need to do what Jeremy and Scott did. And the training and support they offer are second to none. It consists of individually tailored meetings, morning roleplaying, and weekly group meetings.

They are 100% committed to the success of their sales executives and they expect the same commitment in return.

Walking around the Trembley Group Real Estate offices, it is impossible not to notice that the office walls are covered with affirmations. One, in particular, sums up the company culture and defines the route Scott and Jeremy have taken.

The quote is from Proverbs 27:17 and says, “As iron sharpens iron, one man sharpens another.” That quotation says everything about the company’s culture of training and support.

The extension of Scott’s and Jeremy’s commitment to their Sales Executives is the Sales Executives’ commitment to one another. Individually, The Trembley Group Real Estate Sales Executives are committed to positively changing the lives of their clients. Communally, they are committed to doing whatever they can to help each other achieve that success. There are no sharks in this tank.

Having spent nearly forty years industry, I have never seen another company like The Trembley Group Real Estate.
