Here’s what makes the property at 69 Cascade Drive so unique.

Today I’m coming to you from one of the lovely homes we have available at 69 Cascade Drive to show you how well this property is constructed.

Starting in the attic at 0:08 in the video, we see that this home is extremely energy efficient. We have 2x6 construction in all of the walls, which allows us to have r19 insulation instead of r13 insulation. The walls also have Icynene spray foam, which doesn’t compress like normal fiberglass and provides a much better R-value. Furthermore, all of the windows are Andersen Windows, which are high quality. Also, they used smart sun glass for all the south-facing windows, which allows less heat transfer and keeps the furniture from fading.

“No detail has been overlooked in this home.”

At the 1:12 mark, we move on to the kitchen, which is wonderfully sized for entertainment purposes. Unlike most homes, it has a 1,000-CFM exhaust fan in the range hood, and the range itself is a six-burner gas Thermador with convection baking—a rare combination! You’ll also notice that the lazy susans pull all the way out to provide complete access to the cabinets. No detail has been overlooked in this home.

At 1:49, I snuggled into the crawl space to point out how they’ve spray-foamed the entire perimeter of the block. Judging by the head height, I’d estimate we’re on a 24- to 30-inch foundation. Everything is built on piers, and one of the most amazing parts about this is that there is a slab floor underneath the foundation. Why is this so important? About 75% of the crawl spaces I deal with that are on raised foundations have moisture issues—we are located near the coast, after all. These issues can cost homeowners as much as $25,000 when they sell their homes, but the owner of this home will have no such issues.
